You Don’t Have to Have All Your Ducks in a Row to Get Started

Hey friend,

If you’ve ever looked at your to-do list and thought, “I should probably organize my life before I launch this big idea…” — you’re not alone.

This month’s theme is near and dear to my heart: You don’t have to have all your ducks in a row to get started. Truth be told, mine were scattered, confused, and possibly in another zip code.

What started as an idea—raw, real, and a little unpolished—has now grown into one of the most most sought-after services we offer. Proof that you don’t need all the pieces in place to create something powerful.

You just have to begin.

So if you’re waiting for things to be “perfect” before you step forward… consider this your permission slip to begin where you are, messy and magnificent.

With heart & hustle,

Christy

Coaching Corner: Move Forward While Your Ducks Are Quacking

You don’t need every duck in a perfect little row to start something meaningful. Honestly, half the time they’re waddling in circles, arguing over snacks, and refusing to line up anyway.

But here’s the good news: you can still make progress while things are imperfect.

🧠 Mindset Shift: “I’m figuring it out” > “I have to have it all figured out.”

Replace pressure with permission. Growth-minded leaders don’t wait for clarity; they create it through movement.

🔧 3 Practical Tools for Progress in the Midst of Mess:

  1. The Power of the Parking Lot

    • Keep a “parking lot” journal or digital doc where you dump all the things you want to figure out later. This frees up mental space while still honoring the ideas.

    • Pro tip: Schedule weekly “parking lot visits” so they don’t gather dust.

  2. The Rule of One

  3. Ask: What’s one small action I can take today that moves me forward?

Maybe it’s sending the email, booking the call, or outlining your next offer. The win is in the doing, not the scale.

  4. The Progress Tracker (not Perfection Tracker)

  5. Use a whiteboard, sticky notes, or a Trello board to track:

    • Started ✅

    • In Progress 🚧

    • Done 🎉

Watching even small tasks move through the process builds momentum and motivation.
